Making Atoms of an Element.
We made models of atoms of an element using pipe cleaners and little noodle and beads. You can use colored cotton balls too. First we had to research our element. We had to find out who discovered it. We then had to find out its main uses. Then we had to find out the number of protons, neutrons and electrons for our chosen atom. We then arranged the pipe cleaners in circles to represent the shells of the atom. Next we used the noodles to show the neutrons and protons in the nucleus of the atom. We put the beads on the pipe cleaners to show the electrons.
