This year we studied many different types of poetry.  Here are some samples of the work we did.  We hope you enjoy reading them.

I am Sorry

I am sorry  for pulling your pants down in public

I shouldn’t have done it because it was embarrassing.

I did it because, I wanted revenge

I am sorry for  embarrassing you.

Anarcius J.

I am Sorry

I am sorry for breaking your radio

I shouldn’t have taken it

Since it was so important to you.

I just wanted to listen to my favorite stations.

I am sorry

 Lolly and Varnak

Lolly is Spring

bright and beautiful

A park

warm and fun

Varnak is fall

lightening and dark

the doctor

loud, scary

in pain and screaming.

Christopher F.

 Cars

cool, fast

driving, cruising, parking

as cool as snow

automobiles

Matthew A

Blue

 Oh beautiful skies

Blazed blue rays like blue ribbons

Oceans very blue

Bouncing to earth’s atmosphere

Remain this way forever

Reaching, bending, fluttering

Leaves and twigs in the air

Aspen

Ode to My Pencil

Oh pencil, my pencil you are as sharp as can be,

You make me feel like I am writing on air

The way you smoothly go across the page

swiftly going line to line,

you are so important to me,

Without you Mrs. Goldberg would yell at me,

Oh pencil, my pencil.

Danny V.

Apology Poem

I am sorry Dad

for ordering a pay per view boxing match, twice

I should not have done it

because each fight cost $50.00

I did it

because it was the fight of the year,

I am so sorry

Christopher F.

 Ode to My Eraser

Oh eraser, my eraser

You are so soft and squishy

You are always there

when I make a mistake.

I love you so much,

that I use you all of the time.

You come in all colors,

and the most fantastic shapes

I love the way you erase

and fit on any pencil.
